Maruti Suzuki cars to get a price hike
Maruti Suzuki has announced a price increase for various models in its lineup, set to take effect on April 8. The increase, which may reach as high as ₹62,000, is consistent with the company's earlier announcement regarding a potential price adjustment of up to 4 percent. In its official statement, Maruti Suzuki cited rising input costs, increased operational expenses, and the introduction of new features as reasons for this change.
Several of Maruti Suzuki's popular models will soon see a price hike, with the Grand Vitara experiencing the largest increase of up to ₹62,000 across all variants. The Eeco will also undergo a price adjustment of ₹22,500, while the popular WagonR hatchback will see an increase of ₹14,000. Furthermore, the company's MPVs, the Ertiga and XL6, will face a price rise of ₹12,500.
NHAI exceeds target of constructing highways
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) accomplished the construction of 5,614 kilometers of national highways in the previous financial year, which ended on March 31. This achievement exceeds NHAI's target of 5,150 kilometers set for FY25.
In its official statement, NHAI disclosed that its capital expenditure for national highway infrastructure development in the financial year 2024-25 reached an unprecedented level of over ₹250,000 crore, surpassing the initial target of ₹240,000 crore. This represents the highest capital expenditure ever recorded by NHAI in a single financial year, including both government budget allocations and NHAI's own financial resources.
Ola Electric to have six new products
Ola Electric is working to increase its share of the Indian electric two-wheeler market, where it competes with firms such as Ather Energy, Vida (a subsidiary of Hero MotoCorp), TVS Motor Company, and Honda. In an effort to enhance its sales and strengthen its market position, the electric vehicle startup has developed a range of electric two-wheelers scheduled for release following the second quarter of FY26.
Currently, the company offers a selection of electric scooters and motorcycles, with plans to introduce at least six new electric two-wheelers in India. Ola Electric is expected to unveil these upcoming models on Independence Day, August 15, 2025.
