Audi India Crosses 6,500 EV Charging Points, Extends Free Charging Offer

Audi India has reached a significant achievement by establishing more than 6,500 charging stations nationwide for its electric vehicle clientele. This accomplishment is part of Phase II of the 'Charge My Audi' program. Recently, the company has partnered with 16 new infrastructure providers, with over 75 percent of these stations featuring DC fast-charging technology.

During the Phase II expansion of Audi's charging initiative, more than 5,500 new charging points were installed along highways, in urban centers, and at commercial sites, according to the automaker. These locations have been incorporated into the 'myAudi Connect' mobile application, which provides users with various features, including real-time charger availability, route planning, and convenient start/stop options. Audi's charging network now spans 28 states and union territories, covering over 850 cities and 4,700 locations.

Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, commented on the charging initiative, stating, “As the adoption of electric vehicles in India accelerates, it is essential to develop a comprehensive charging infrastructure. With more than 6,500 charging stations and an emphasis on DC fast chargers, we are improving convenience, minimizing charging durations, and broadening accessibility for our customers. The second phase of our ‘Charge My Audi’ program represents a significant advancement in enhancing the electric vehicle ownership experience. Our partners play a vital role in this endeavor, and we are eager to collaborate in promoting the transition to electric mobility.”

Additionally, this extension will provide customers with free charging access throughout Audi's network, facilitated through our CPO partners via the ‘myAudi Connect’ application.

Audi’s EV Charging Partners

Audi collaborates with several partners to enhance its charging infrastructure, including Shell India, Adani Total Energies E-Mobility Ltd. (ATEL), Charge Zone, Statiq, Gentari India, Relux Electric, Lion Charge, chargeMOD, Xobolt, Earthtron, Aargo EV Smart, Eco Plug Energy, GreenShift, Kurrent Charge, E-Fill, Electric Fuel, iONCHARGE, SR Charging, Tecell, and Yo Charge.

As part of the Charge My Audi initiative, the company has launched route-mapping tools and destination charging hubs in Phase I. This system enables electric vehicle owners to plan their journeys based on the real-time availability of charging stations.

In India, Audi offers a range of electric vehicles, including the Q8 e-tron, Q8 e-tron Sportback, e-tron GT, and RS e-tron GT. The company is expected to expand its electric vehicle lineup in India with the introduction of the next-generation Q6 e-tron and A6 e-tron sedan in the upcoming years.
