Ather Rizta's digital console now supports eight regional languages via an OTA update

Ather Energy has enhanced the Rizta electric scooter by introducing a new multi-language interface. The updated Ather Rizta now accommodates eight regional languages—Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada—alongside English. Existing Ather customers will receive this new language feature through an over-the-air (OTA) update, with the rollout commencing with the Hindi dashboard, followed by the other regional languages shortly thereafter.

According to Ather Energy, there is a significant inclination among Indians to interact with digital content in their native languages. The company referenced the Internet in India 2024 report by IAMAI and Kantar, which indicates that 98 per cent of Internet users engaged with content in Indic languages last year, whether it involved reading articles, viewing videos, or seeking information. This insight has motivated the electric two-wheeler manufacturer to incorporate multiple languages into its dashboard.

The multi-language dashboard is featured in the top-tier Ather Rizta Z variant. Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer of Ather Energy Limited, stated, “From the outset, we have meticulously designed and developed our technology and products with the Indian consumer in mind. Our objective has consistently been to provide high-quality user experiences that enhance engagement with our scooters. Recognizing India’s vast diversity and the significance of regional languages to its people, we aimed to create a more user-friendly experience. We are confident that the multi-language dashboard will enable riders to customize their scooters in their preferred language.”

The multi-language dashboard will be accessible to Ather Rizta Z models through an OTA update. In addition to the various language options, the AtherStack incorporates numerous other features on the electric scooter, such as FallSafe detection, AutoHold, and WhatsApp notifications, as well as live location sharing, ping my scooter and Alexa integration. The e-scooter is also equipped with Skid Control, which functions as traction control. The Rizta Z features a 7-inch TFT display, although it is not a touchscreen model.
