The newest Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is built on the MQB-Evo platform, which gives it an extra 30 mm in length and 4 mm in height compared to the previous model, while keeping the same 2,680 mm wheelbase. Its updated design showcases a sleeker, more rounded exterior that improves aerodynamics, boasting a drag coefficient of only 0.28 cd.

The Tiguan R-Line features a striking front design with HD Matrix LED headlights linked by a stylish lightbar. Its sporty bumper includes side air vents that enhance aerodynamics. At the back, a unique black panel showcases the taillight assembly. This SUV rolls on eye-catching 20-inch alloy wheels and sports ‘R’ badges on the front doors, distinguishing it from the regular Tiguan.

The interior of the Tiguan R-Line is packed with technology, featuring a 10.25-inch digital display for the instrument cluster and a huge 15.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that runs on the latest MIB4 interface. This SUV maintains its five-seat layout, providing a luxurious and roomy cabin.

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line, designed for the Indian market, is likely to feature a 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine that produces 261 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. It will come with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, but the 6-speed manual version that's available in other countries probably won't make it to India.

The Tiguan R-Line is anticipated to have a price tag of about ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom). It will go head-to-head with upscale entry-level luxury SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1, and Audi Q3, and it will also be in the same price range as the Toyota Fortuner.
