Greaves Electric Mobility Limited, a division of Greaves Cotton Ltd. focused on electric mobility, has introduced its latest electric scooter, the Ampere Reo 80. This e-scooter boasts an impressive range of 80 km on a single charge and is priced at ₹59,900 (ex-showroom), aiming to enhance the accessibility of electric mobility. Greaves Electric targets first-time electric vehicle (EV) users, students, senior citizens, and families with this new model.

Ampere Reo 80: Specifications

The Ampere Reo 80 is an enhanced version of the existing Reo model. It is classified as a low-speed electric scooter, reaching a maximum speed of 25 km/h, which allows it to be used without a driving license or vehicle registration. This feature broadens its appeal to a diverse user base while keeping the purchase cost low.

During the launch event for the Reo 80, K. Vijaya Kumar, Executive Director & CEO of Greaves Electric Mobility, stated, “At Ampere, our vision is to enable ‘Har Gully Electric’. With the introduction of the all-new Ampere Reo 80, we are making electric mobility more accessible and inclusive for our customers in India. This ensures that every rider, regardless of their financial situation or requirements, has access to a safe, reliable, and intelligent electric mobility solution from Ampere.”

The Ampere Reo 80 is equipped with numerous features, such as a colored LCD instrument console, keyless ignition, and a variety of dual-tone color options including black, red, blue, and white. It is also fitted with a front disc brake and rides on alloy wheels. Deliveries of the new Ampere Reo 80 are set to commence across India starting this month.

Greaves Electric reports that the company is gaining traction in the Indian electric vehicle market, having sold 6,000 electric scooters in March 2025, which reflects a 52 percent increase in sales month-over-month. This new model is expected to compete with several entry-level e-scooters in the market segment.
