The first-generation Tata Nexon made history in 2018 as the first Indian vehicle to achieve a five-star rating from Global NCAP. The latest model, the 2023 Tata Nexon, boasts an enhanced array of features. It is offered with a choice of a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine or a 1.5-litre diesel engine, each with distinct gearbox options. This SUV is equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill assist, and a 360-degree camera. Additionally, it features a 10.25-inch floating infotainment display prominently positioned atop the dashboard, supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The climate control system is integrated into a touchscreen panel located beneath the air conditioning vents, while the center console includes a wireless charging slot for smartphones.

2 Hyundai Venue  

The Hyundai Venue, with a price range of ₹7.9 lakh (ex-showroom) to ₹13.5 lakh (ex-showroom), offers three engine options and boasts 30 safety features in its latest version. It is available with two petrol engines, including a turbocharged 1.0-litre variant that can be paired with either a dual-clutch or manual transmission. The center console is equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen display for infotainment, while the driver's instrument cluster features a TFT digital display. The Venue also includes powered seating for the driver, two-step reclining rear seats, a wireless charger, paddle shifters, and a cabin air purifier. Furthermore, Hyundai has incorporated six airbags, ABS, a stability management system, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) into the vehicle.

3 Mahindra XUV 3XO  

The Mahindra XUV 3XO has succeeded the compact XUV300 and is available with two petrol engine options and one diesel engine. Each of these powertrains can be paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The XUV 3XO features two 10.25-inch digital displays for the driver's gauge cluster and the infotainment system. The infotainment setup supports wireless Android Auto and wired Apple CarPlay. Additionally, the XUV 3XO is equipped with six airbags.

4. The Skoda Kylaq is available in four distinct variants: Classic, Signature, Signature Plus, and Prestige. The manufacturer, part of the Volkswagen Group, has disclosed the pricing for the base variant, which is set at ₹7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). This model is equipped with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, offering a choice between a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The engine produces a peak power of 113 bhp and a maximum torque of 178 Nm. In terms of features, the Skoda Kylaq includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-inch digital driver display, six-way adjustable electric front seats with ventilation, an electric sunroof, cruise control, and tyre pressure monitoring, among other amenities.

5. The Kia Syros represents the latest entry into the subcompact SUV market and is Kia's second model in this category. With a price range of ₹9 lakh to ₹17 lakh (ex-showroom), it is positioned as the most premium SUV within its segment. The Syros is distinguished by its high-end features, which include a 30-inch dual-screen configuration for both infotainment and instrumentation, wireless compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated seating for both front and rear passengers, as well as sliding and reclining capabilities for the second-row seats. Additional features comprise a wireless charging pad and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. On the safety front, it is equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which includes 16 adaptive functions such as lane-keeping assistance. Other safety provisions feature six airbags, electronic stability control, hill start assist, a 360-degree parking camera, and front parking sensors. The Syros offers two engine choices: a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 118 bhp and 172 Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine generating 116 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, while the petrol variant also offers a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and the diesel variant is available with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
