Steelbird has launched its new SBH Vintage series of helmets, with prices ranging from ₹959 to ₹1,199. This series features various models that come with different visor options, as well as some that are available without a visor. Customers can select between a transparent or a smoked visor if they choose to include one.
The helmet boasts a retro design and is constructed with a thermoplastic shell, ensuring durability while maintaining a lightweight profile. Beneath the shell lies a high-density EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) layer, which enhances rider safety by effectively absorbing shocks during impacts. Additionally, the visor is crafted from polycarbonate and is equipped with an anti-scratch coating for improved longevity.
Steelbird SBH Vintage: Styling and sizing
To distinguish this model from its competitors within the same price bracket, Steelbird has equipped all variants of this helmet with a leather strap at the rear. This strap contributes a refined retro charm to the overall design. The helmet is available in a range of colors, featuring both a classic single hue and more fashionable choices adorned with vintage stripe graphics. Additionally, it includes a quick-release, micro-metric buckle that enables the rider to effortlessly fasten or unfasten the strap.
The helmet is available in three sizes: medium at 580mm, large at 600mm, and X-Large at 620mm.
Steelbird SBH Vintage: Availability and colours
The SBH Vintage series is available for purchase through the manufacturer's official website or authorized retail outlets. The multicolour variant, featuring both smoked full visor and half visor options, is offered in six colors, including a Glossy White with Red. In contrast, the multicolour variant with clear full visor and half visor options is available in eight colors. Additionally, non-visor models can be found in both multicolour and single-colour selections.
Rajeev Kapur, Managing Director of Steelbird Helmets, emphasized the alarming statistics regarding road fatalities, underscoring the necessity of wearing high-quality helmets. He stated, “India experiences 53 road accidents and 19 fatalities every hour, with 45 percent of these incidents involving two-wheelers. It is crucial for riders to prioritize safety while maintaining their sense of style.”
