1 month ago | 5 Views
KTM is contemplating the introduction of the rugged off-road variant, the 390 Adventure R, to the Indian market. The latest generation of the KTM 390 Adventure was unveiled globally in two versions—R and X—while India has received the more touring-oriented S variant, which lacks certain features found in the R model. KTM has indicated that it is reassessing the potential for the 390 Adventure R in India and is likely to offer the model on a made-to-order basis.
KTM 390 Adventure R Set to Launch in India
The new KTM 390 Adventure lineup is manufactured in India and exported to various international markets. This positions the manufacturer favourably to introduce the 390 Adventure R alongside the S and X variants that have already been announced. According to HT Auto, the homologation process for the R variant is still underway, but this is expected to result in only a brief delay of a few weeks.
KTM is expected to offer the 390 Adventure R variant through select dealerships throughout India. Customers will have the opportunity to test-ride the motorcycle at these locations and subsequently place their orders. While the brand has yet to disclose pricing details, it is anticipated that the 390 Adventure R will be priced slightly higher than the S variant upon its release. Earlier this month, KTM announced the pricing for the new 390 Adventure range, starting at ₹2.91 lakh for the X variant and reaching up to ₹3.68 lakh for the S variant. All prices are ex-showroom, India.
KTM 390 Adventure R Specifications
The KTM 390 Adventure R is designed with a focus on off-road performance and features several enhancements to enhance its capabilities. The motorcycle boasts a fully adjustable suspension system that offers up to 230 mm of travel on both ends. The seat height is significantly increased to 885 mm, compared to 825 mm for the X variant and 830 mm for the S variant. It is equipped with 21-inch front and larger 18-inch rear wire-spoked wheels, fitted with Mitas Enduro Trail dual-purpose tyres. It is important to note that the India-specific 390 Adventure S comes with tubeless wire-spoked wheels, a feature that will not be available on the R variant.
