The S90 introduces Volvo’s latest user interface, powered by the Snapdragon Cockpit Platform. This system promises faster response times and includes an 11.2-inch center display with built-in Google features. It integrates tools like Google Maps and Google Assistant, and over-the-air software updates will enable future improvements without needing a trip to the dealership. The updated digital driver display also provides clearer navigation assistance.

4 Powertrain

The new S90 comes as a plug-in hybrid with an electric-only range of up to 80 km (WLTP) and also offers a mild-hybrid option with a four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. According to Volvo’s data, nearly half of the distance covered by their latest plug-in hybrids has been on electric power alone, indicating potential for reduced emissions during daily driving. The final specifications for the engine options have yet to be disclosed.

5 Safety

Safety remains a top priority, with the S90 equipped with Volvo’s Pilot Assist system. This includes features like adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and automated braking for slow-moving traffic. A reinforced safety cage and various active safety features are also included, ensuring a comprehensive safety package.
