The ninth generation of the Toyota Camry was introduced in India earlier this month. This new Japanese sedan arrives in the Indian market as a fully equipped variant featuring a petrol hybrid powertrain. Notably, the updated Camry is priced higher than its predecessor, retailing at ₹48 lakh, ex-showroom. This increase in price not only positions the Camry above the previous model but also surpasses the cost of the Audi A4.

Although the Audi A4 carries a premium brand image, it has become somewhat dated, having last received an update in India in 2022. In contrast, the latest generation of the Camry is equipped with a comprehensive array of features, albeit lacking premium branding. The global version of the 2025 Camry is presented in four unique trims; however, the Indian market will feature only one variant, which is priced at ₹48 lakh (ex-showroom). This model offers six colour choices and is equipped with newly designed 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The available color options include Cement Gray, Attitude Black, Dark Blue, Emotional Red, Platinum White Pearl, and Precious Metal. Inside, the cabin features a dual-tone yellow-brown soft leather upholstery complemented by a Piano Black centre console.

In contrast, the Audi A4 is available in three trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, and Technology. The pricing for the A4 starts at ₹46.02 lahks, ex-showroom, and can reach up to ₹54.58 lahks for the Technology trim.

The 2025 Toyota Camry is exclusively equipped with a 2.5-litre inline-four petrol-hybrid engine, which produces a combined maximum output of 226.8 bhp and 221 Nm of torque. This power is transmitted to the front wheels through an e-CVT that features a 10-speed Sequential Shift mode, allowing for a manual driving experience. In international markets, the Camry is available with an all-wheel-drive option, providing on-demand torque distribution between the front and rear wheels.

Additionally, the vehicle boasts a Bang & Olufsen sound system with 19 speakers, which includes a centre speaker and subwoofer, a 16-channel amplifier, and a total output of 755 Watts, delivering premium sound with 3D audio capabilities, complemented by a flat-bottom steering wheel.
