Among the numerous EVs presented, the BYD Sealion 7 and the Kia EV6 facelift stood out as particularly captivating models. The Sealion 7 was introduced earlier in February 2025, while the updated Kia EV6 made its debut more recently.
Both electric SUVs are positioned within the premium electric vehicle market. The EV6 was initially launched in India in 2022, whereas the Sealion 7 entered the Indian market in 2025. The 2025 Kia EV6 is priced at ₹65.9 lakh, ex-showroom. In contrast to the previous model, which was available in two variants—GT Line and GT Line AWD, priced at ₹60.9 lakh and ₹65.7 lakh, ex-showroom, respectively—the 2025 version is offered solely in the GT Line AWD configuration. The BYD Sealion 7, on the other hand, is priced between ₹48.90 lakh and ₹54.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Premium and Performance variants, respectively.

The 2025 Kia EV6 features an upgraded 84 kWh battery pack from the Hyundai Motor Group, replacing the previous 77.4 kWh pack. It boasts a claimed range of 663 km and supports 350 kW DC fast charging, allowing it to charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. The 2025 Kia EV6 GT Line AWD generates 320 bhp and 605 Nm of torque.
In comparison, the BYD Sealion 7 is equipped with an 82.5 kWh battery pack. The Premium variant comes with a front-wheel-drive (FWD) configuration, while the Performance variant features an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. The Premium model produces 308 bhp and 380 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, with a maximum range of 567 kilometers on a full charge. The Performance variant, utilizing the same battery pack, delivers 522 bhp and 690 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0-100.

The 2025 Kia EV6 introduces an innovative dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic display that integrates the driver's instrument cluster with the infotainment touchscreen. Additionally, the two-spoke D-cut steering wheel is equipped with a fingerprint sensor, enabling the driver to unlock and start the EV6 without the necessity of a conventional key.
Over-the-air (OTA) updates for the Kia EV6 will enhance navigation and the electrical control system. Other notable interior enhancements include a digital rearview mirror, an upgraded 12-inch heads-up display, and an augmented reality navigation system.
The BYD Sealion 7 is also rich in features, with both trims offering the same specifications. Its all-black interior is highlighted by a flat-bottom four-spoke steering wheel and a 15.6-inch rotatable screen that manages most vehicle functions, complemented by a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Noteworthy features include a crystal gear selector and a driver monitoring system that employs infrared technology to detect signs of drowsiness or distraction. The front seats, upholstered in Nappa leather, are power-adjustable (8-way for the driver with lumbar support, 6-way for the passenger) and ventilated. Additional amenities encompass a head-up display, a 12-speaker audio system, dual-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof.
