Audi has officially introduced the new A6 Sedan, a premium executive vehicle that seamlessly combines sportiness and sophistication with cutting-edge technology. The latest Audi A6 features a refreshed design language, hybrid powertrains, and a fully digital user interface.

This marks the sixth generation of the A6 sedan, which now shares its platform with the A5 sedan, built on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture. In the Indian market, the A6 competes with other executive sedans such as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the BMW 5 Series.

2025 Audi A6: Design

The design of the new A6 Sedan represents a notable evolution of Audi’s iconic aesthetic—sleek, functional, and performance-driven. The front showcases a prominent single-frame grille positioned low, accompanied by streamlined headlights that convey a strong presence. Enhanced aerodynamics are achieved through optimized air curtains and a front spoiler that minimizes lift at the front axle.

The elongated rear profile contributes to the vehicle's overall stature, while sharp lines, precise LED lighting, and a full-width light strip establish a commanding appearance. The rear notchback design, featuring a sculpted tailgate and diffuser, enhances airflow and elevates driving dynamics.

2025 Audi A6: Powertrain and performance

The A6 is outfitted with Audi’s MHEV plus mild-hybrid technology across both petrol and diesel options. Engine choices include a 2.0 TDI producing 201 bhp and a more robust 3.0 TFSI V6 delivering 362 bhp. The mild-hybrid system not only boosts fuel efficiency but also provides an additional torque enhancement of up to 230 Nm and 23.6 bhp during acceleration or overtaking maneuvers.

At lower speeds, the A6 can operate in a purely electric mode, which is beneficial for parking and navigating through slow-moving traffic. The regenerative braking system can recover up to 33.5 bhp during deceleration, utilizing an advanced electrohydraulic braking system that transitions smoothly between regenerative and friction braking.

2025 Audi A6: Suspension and handling

A standout feature of the 2025 Audi A6 is the optional adaptive air suspension, which modifies the vehicle's height according to driving modes and speed, thereby minimizing drag and enhancing ride comfort. In dynamic mode, the suspension lowers the vehicle by as much as 30 mm, providing a sportier appearance.

Moreover, the available all-wheel steering system enhances maneuverability at low speeds by turning the rear wheels in the opposite direction of the front wheels, while simultaneously improving stability at higher speeds by aligning the rear wheels in the same direction.

2025 Audi A6: Interior and features

The interior of the A6 Sedan showcases cutting-edge technology. The infotainment system operates on Android Automotive OS, featuring over-the-air updates and direct access to third-party applications such as Spotify and YouTube via the Audi MMI interface, eliminating the need for a smartphone for most app functionalities.

The touchscreen and voice controls have become increasingly user-friendly, with the Audi assistant adapting to user preferences and utilizing internet-based information to address inquiries. Thanks to its integration with ChatGPT, the assistant can respond to a broad spectrum of questions using natural language prompts.

2025 Audi A6: Advanced Driver Assistance Systems

All variants of the A6 come equipped with a comprehensive "driving and parking" assistance package, which includes features such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, park assist plus, and cross-traffic assist, among others. Additionally, Audi offers an optional Adaptive Driving Assistant Plus, which leverages sensors, high-definition maps, and cloud-based swarm data to enhance navigation, lane guidance, and speed regulation, even in stop-and-go traffic situations.

2025 Audi A6: Practicality

While emphasizing a sporty design, the new A6 does not sacrifice practicality. The trunk provides up to 492 liters of storage space, accommodating two large suitcases side by side. The rear seats can be folded in a 40:20:40 configuration for increased versatility. An optional hands-free tailgate, featuring a foot-gesture kick sensor, further enhances everyday usability.

2025 Audi A6: Pricing and India availability

The latest Audi A6 Sedan will be produced at Audi's facility in Neckarsulm and is scheduled for a worldwide launch. The starting price for the base TFSI model is €55,500 (approximately ₹53.5 lakh) in international markets.

Currently, the manufacturer has not provided any information regarding the pricing of the new A6 in India. We anticipate that the A6 will be available in India by 2026.
