The Aprilia Shiver 900 has made its return after nearly five years of absence from the Italian manufacturer's offerings. Notably, this time the naked streetbike will be produced and sold exclusively in China. The motorcycle features a range of updates and a refreshed aesthetic while preserving the fundamental design elements of its predecessor. Although the Shiver 900 was previously available in India, it was discontinued due to strict emissions regulations and limited market demand.

The resurgence of the Shiver 900 has been anticipated since 2022, when Piaggio, Aprilia's parent company, announced a collaborative venture with Zongshen, a Chinese manufacturing firm. This partnership aimed to introduce a 900 cc twin-cylinder motorcycle, showcasing concepts inspired by the earlier Shiver 900. While there was speculation regarding the model name, with possibilities of it being launched under the "Gilera" brand, Aprilia ultimately revealed the motorcycle as a revival of the original Shiver 900.

2025 Aprilia Shiver 900: What's new?

The Shiver 900 retains the original design with new side panels and an upswept tail-end. The bike gets more features and is powered by the same 896 cc V-twin motor.
The 2025 Aprilia Shiver 900 retains many design elements from the 2020 version, featuring new side panels and an elevated tail section. It is equipped with updated LED headlights that echo the original stacked design. Additional enhancements include a new keyless ignition system that replaces the traditional ignition switch.

The 2025 Shiver 900 is powered by the same 896 cc V-twin engine that was utilized in the previous generation. This liquid-cooled engine delivers 94 bhp at 8,750 rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The motorcycle is fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, shod with a 120/70 front tire and a 180/55 rear tire. It employs KYB suspension components that offer spring pre-load and rebound adjustability. Furthermore, the Shiver 900 is equipped with dual 320 mm front brake discs and a single 240 mm disc at the rear.

The 2025 Aprilia Shiver 900 is available at a price of 68,800 yuan (approximately ₹8.24 lakh). Although this price point is considerably lower than that of other Aprilia models in China, it remains higher than that of its domestic competitors. The Aprilia RS 660, which is produced in Italy, is priced at 119,900 yuan (around ₹14.36 lakh), resulting in a price difference of ₹6.12 lakh. In contrast, the CFMoto 800NK streetfighter is offered at a price of 44,980 yuan (approximately ₹5.38 lakh).
